Uses:
1.Analytical Chemistry:
Detecting ferrous ions (Fe ² ⁺) to generate a deep blue Teng's blue precipitate, which is a classic qualitative analysis method
2.Photography and Art:
Used for cyanotype, developed by reacting with ferric ammonium citrate to create permanent blue images.
3.Electrochemistry:
As a redox pair of [Fe (CN) ₆] ³ ⁻/[Fe (CN) ₆] ⁴⁻, it is used in cyclic voltammetry, biosensors, and supercapacitor media.
4.Industrial applications:
Used for printing and dyeing (dyeing aniline black), photographic development, electroplating, leather making,
metal surface treatment, and engineering blueprint replication.
